Tentaculites richmonensis Fossils

Here is an image of a nice plate of fossils found in the Lexington Limestone of Franklin County, Kentucky USA. There are at least 8 Tentaculites richmonensis shown in the image around that brown object which is an Isotelus trilobites hypostome (feeding scoop). Also in the images are brachiopods and bryozoans. Fossils date to the Ordovician Period.

Isotelus Trilobite Hypostome Fossil

This picture shows the feeding scoop or hypostome of an Isotelus sp. trilobite fossil (not complete). It was found in the Kope Formation (Eden Group) of Carroll County, Kentucky, USA. It dates to the Ordovician Period.

Arctinurus Hypostome

This fossil is what is left of a feeding scoop or hypostome of the Arctinurus trilobite. Long ago upon the seafloor that is now Clark County, Indiana this creature roamed around looking for food. Fossil came from the Silurian Period Waldron Shale.
