Calymene niagarensis Trilobite

These images are of specimens on display in the invertebrate fossil section of Muséum National D'Historie Naturelle Jardin Des Plantes Paléontologie et Anatomie Comparée in Paris, France.

I was attracted to these fossils since they came from Ohio which has similar fossils to those found around the Louisville, Kentucky area. It is neat that they have the same species of trilobite from both the Silurian and Ordovician Periods. The trilobite shown is the Calymene niagarensis.

This last image is blurry but I decided to include it since it shows another species of trilobite from Ohio on display at the museum. This one is an Ordovician Period Flexicalymene senaria.
