Ordovician Brachiopod (Platystrophia?)

Here is an Ordovician period brachiopod found in eastern Jefferson County, Kentucky. It is possible it is a Platystrophia

Definately a Platystrophia. If it's big then it's probably Platystrophia Ponderosa. Otherwise maybe a Playstrophia Clarkvillensis? Too many species and too little documentation at hand. :(

The Ordovician Period is dated to approximately 490 to 443 million years ago. So the fossils are quite OLD! The oldest fossils I know of are over 2 billion years ago (search for Kona Dolomite in Google).
