Kazakhstania mangeri Ammonite Fossil




These microscope images show a fossil that appears to be a Kazakhstania mangeri ammonite. It dates to the Mississippian Period. It was found in the Cave Run Fauna of Rowan County, Kentucky USA.

Decaschisma Silurian Period Blastoid Fossil

Today's post is a very rare find. A Silurian Period blastoid fossil found in the Waldron Shale. It was found in Clark County Indiana USA. The fossil appears to be a Decaschisma pentalobus. It is about 7 mm tall. Thanks to Kenny for the image and yes you were right you would one day find a blastoid in the Waldron Shale. :)

Lichenalia cocentrica Bryozoan Fossil
