This image shows a Dawsonoceras annulatum (J. Sowerby) cephalopod fossil. It was found in the Silurian Period Wenlock series of Coalbrookdale Shropshire England.
Image taken August 2016. The fossil was on display at the British Natural History Museum.

Austrian Tree Fossil
This picture is of coniferous tree twig that has turned to coal. It was found in Austria. The fossil dates to the Oligocene Epoch of the Paleogene Period.
It was on display at the British Natural History Museum in London on August 2016.

Fossilized Tree Stem Lenticels
This picture is of a fossil tree stem preserved in silica. This mineral preserved the air pores or lenticels.
