The colonial coral fossil Favosites pirum? found in the Jeffersonville Limestone of Jefferson County, Kentucky. This almost spherical colony existed in the Middle Devonian Period. It has taken some damage as the following photos will attest to.

Heliophyllum agassizi? Horn Coral
Heliophyllum agassizi? horn coral fossil found in Jeffersonville Limestone from Jefferson County, Kentucky. Coral grew in the Middle Devonian Period. The Heliophyllum is one of the common horn corals found in the area.

Pteranodon Flying Reptile Postage Stamp
Here are two cancelled U.S. postage stamps from 1989 depicting the flying reptile Pteranodon. This stamp was part of four set with the other three featuring dinosaurs. The Pteranodon roamed the skies of the Late Cretaceous period with its range extending over the states Alabama, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wyoming.
