Mytilus edulis Bivalve


This picture shows a Mytilus edulis (Gray, 1847) marine bivalve mollusc at the Museo di Paleontologia at Sapienza University of Rome Italy. Creatures like this exist in today's oceans. It is also known as the blue or common mussel.

Peneroplis plantus Foraminifera

This looks like a Peneroplis plantus foraminifera. It was found at Pago Beach on the island of Guam. Image is magnified 40 times under a microscope which should equate to a 1 mm field of view.
