Today, I will not post fossils but images of shells that might one day be fossils. These pictures were taken in August 2016 at Saint-Malo France. A lot of limpet shells can be found, they appear to be Patella vulgata. Also small striped snail shells that might some type of Gibbula umbilicalis?

Thanks for the images from Saint-Malo. Reminds me that Anthony Doerr's novel All the Light We Cannot See, set partly in Saint-Malo, has a wonderfully strong streak of natural history in it.

We were on a tour of Normandy so I did not get to spend a lot of time there. It is a very beautiful place and the food is great. What a coincidence you mention that book, while I was at the beach looking at shells, my wife was trying find places mentioned in that book. She could not find any one who was familiar with the story though.
