Ordovician Bryozoan Constellaria

Here are pictures of two pieces of an Ordovician Period bryozoan called Constellaria. It was found in the Drake Formation(?), Spencer County, Kentucky. Its name comes from the star like patterns that one can assume form constellations.

  1. These are neat Bryozoans to look at and hard as heck to find sometimes! Great piece!

  2. I agree, these two pieces are the only ones I have ever found. They are each about 3 cm long.

It was luck that I found them after climbing to a ledge on a rock face, they were both about a half meter within each other in some loose rock.
