Images are of a Phacelocrinus longidactylus (McChesney, 1860) crinoid calyx fossil the dark mass on the calyx is a Platyceras snail fossil. It was found in the Glen Dean Formation of Grayson County, Kentucky USA. The fossil dates to the Mississippian Period. Thanks to Kenny for the images.
