Chiracanthus Fish Scale Fossil

This microfossil appears to be a Chiracanthus  sp. fish scale. The field of view (FOV) is about 2 mm. It dates to the Devonian Period. The fossil was found in the Beechwood Limestone of Clark County, Indiana USA.

This microfossil appears to be a Holmesella sp. fish tooth. The field of view (FOV) is about 1 mm. It was found in the Beechwood Limestone and thus dates to the Devonian Period. The fossil was found in Clark County, Indiana USA.

Reticulariina Brachiopod Fossil Spines

These images are of brachiopod fossils and close up images under the microscope of some of their spines. The brachiopod fossils are called Reticulariina spinosa and date to the Mississippian Period. They were found in the Glen Dean Member of Grayson County, Kentucky, USA.

Unidentified Waldron Shale Fossil

Unidentified Waldron Shale fossil found in Clark County, Indiana, USA. It dates to the Silurian Period. I think it might be some sort trace fossil. Maybe some sort of Ruscophycus or Arthrophycus trace fossil?

UPDATE (2018/01/15): A visitor Todd H. left me a message suggesting this might be a cephalopod Bickmorites. He has found in Silurian Laurel Dolomite and they are also found in Scott County Indiana. This identification seems valid though I cannot find this genus as appearing in the Waldron Shale before. My cousin Kenny suggest it might be part of the cephalopod Trochoceras which as been linked to this layer. I did an image search and the pattern reminds me of a Silurian Goniatites (again I don't think these were ever found in the Waldron Shale.) Ambonychia Clam Fossil with Bryozoan

These images are of Ambonychia sp. clam fossils encrusted with bryozoan. Fossils are from the Ordovician Period. They were found in Jefferson County, Indiana, USA.

Vinlandostrophia Brachiopod Fossil with Friends

Here is an image of three fossils in one place. First is the Vinlandostrophia (Platystrophia) sp. brachiopod with an unidentified inarticulate brachiopod attached. On the inarticulate brachiopod is a Cornulites corrugatus worm tube fossil. These fossils date to the Ordovician Period. They might be from the McMillan/Grant Lake Formation and were found in eastern Jefferson County, Kentucky, USA.
