This crinoid calyx with a long stem piece attached is the
Forbesiocrinus multibrachiatus. Existing in the early Mississippian Period (345-325 million years ago, Osagean stage) and found in Indiana (probably Crawsfordsville, Edwardsville Formation). Fossil image created in August 2010 at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C.
