Horn Coral Zaphrentis phrygia

Middle Devonian Period horn corals called Zaphrentis phrygia. This one was found in New York state.

These last set of horn corals were found in Ohio, probably in Columbus Limestone which is from the Devonian Period.

Thank you for posting this site! Now I know the scientific name of my Horn coral, "Zaphrentis phrygia," found at approximately 8,000 feet above sea level 15 miles North East of Logan UT. My family likes this area because many of the fossils found here are able to be etched with Muriatic acid.
